Jong-Guk Ahn

I double-majored in Physics and Chemistry, and I strive to explain complex concepts in simple terms for other person. I figured out the essence of physics lies not only in its beautiful principles, but also in problem identification and logical thinking. So, I constantly seek out issues in my surrondings and try to make it better.

Currently, I'm studying the various properties of two-dimensional materials through denstiy functional theory (DFT) calculation using Linux-based parallel computing (UoU Arachi & RIKEN Hokusai server). I have also studied surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) using hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) and Au nanoparticles. And I plan to integrate machine learning technique with my domain knowledge in the near future. (Lab. homapage )
